Amy Gates has been making upcycled jewelry in Longmont, Colorado since 2016. The journey started with feathers from her chickens and soon expanded to include thrifted leather jackets and soda/beer cans. Eventually her business evolved into using vintage or thrifted cookie/tea tins, as well as reclaimed leather.
Everything still begins that way: vintage tins, thrifted leather jackets and offcuts, sourced secondhand and cut by hand in small batches. Nothing is mass produced, and no two pairs come out quite the same. In addition to making unique jewelry, Amy also enjoys spending time with her family, walks with her dog Jasper, gardening and hiking.
